“Abba, Father,” he said, “everything is possible for you. Take this cup from me. Yet not what I will, but what you will.” Mark 14:36 NIV
We cherish God’s word, believing that it is His revelation to us so that we might know Him and understand His purpose for our lives. At each worship service we practice saying a monthly Bible verse together and then have a drawing for a small prize at the end of the month to recite the Scripture from memory. It’s a fun way to challenge each other to hide God’s word in our hearts. Any age may participate.
Hebrews 4:12 (NIV)
For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.
2 Timothy 3:16-17 (NIV)
All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.
